Terms of Use
Draft v0.1 · Last updated October 8, 2026
1. What Boonspot is
Boonspot is a community-sourced information service about places where people have parked overnight. Scores reflect what other users reported. They are opinions and statistics, not permission, advice, or a guarantee.
2. You are responsible for where you park
- You must follow all applicable laws, ordinances, posted signs, and property rules wherever you are. A spot marked “tolerated” means other users had uneventful nights there. It does not mean overnight parking is legal or permitted.
- Private property owners, managers, and law enforcement can ask you to leave at any time. Comply.
- We do not verify any spot. We make no guarantee that any location is safe, legal, open, accessible, level, quiet, or suitable for your vehicle.
- Conditions change. Scores lag reality.
3. No liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Boonspot and its contributors are not liable for any tickets, fines, towing, damage, injury, loss, or any other consequence of your decision to park somewhere, or of your reliance on information in the service. The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
4. Community rules
- Report honestly. Reports are about places, never about people. Do not identify or describe individuals.
- Do not add spots on private residential property, in places where parking is clearly prohibited, or that would harm a community if shared.
- Do not scrape, bulk-export, or redistribute spot data. Exact spot locations are shared with contributors for personal use only.
- Rotate. Repeatedly saturating a spot harms everyone, including you.
- We may remove spots, reports, or accounts that break these rules, and may limit how often you can add spots or file reports.
5. Accounts
You need an account to contribute and to see exact spots. Keep your sign-in method secure. You can delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). You must be at least 16 to use Boonspot.
6. Pro subscription
Optional paid features (such as offline regions, route planning, and crowding alerts) are billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your store account. Features marked “coming soon” are not yet available.
7. Content and licence
By contributing stays, reports, or spots, you grant Boonspot a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that information, in aggregate and individually, to operate and improve the service. Aggregated, anonymous statistics may be published.
8. Changes and termination
We may change the service or these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms.
9. Governing law
[Placeholder: jurisdiction to be set by counsel.] Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
